Superintendent's Report - February 2024

We are nearing the 100th day of school and in primary grades, this is an important day of learning! All of our students are about halfway through the year, many have begun second semester, and everyone is in full learning mode in their classrooms, outdoors and in their communities. They are connecting with one another, sharing knowledge and experiences, embracing the world around them and working with educators to develop the skills they need to become lifelong learners.

Winter Fun!

Despite the continuous change of weather, South Nelson students have been enjoying lots of outdoor activities! The sledding hill has been very busy, and you will often even still see games of soccer happening on the field in the snow! Students enjoyed building snowmen, snow forts, and making coloured ice crystals. Cross country skiing also began last week, and students are enjoying learning something new and are trying really hard. A favourite are the snow jumps at Apex.

Gr. 4/5 Volleyball

After a month of practice, Mrs. De Sousa and Mrs. Sparks grade 4/5’s participated in last week’s volleyball tournament at Hume school. The students worked together to communicate as a team, and showed amazing sportsmanship on the court. We are so proud of them all!
