Hello Families,

Welcome to a new week! I hope you had a great family day long weekend.

See below for this week’s update.

Last week’s highlights include:

  • Whitewater ski days   – Students had their second day at the hill last week. It was a great day of learning and practicing their skills.
  • Valentine’s day – Valentine’s day was a great day of celebration of friendship and kindness. Each class celebrated in a different way and it was great to see students sharing cards and small tokens with each other.
  • BC history studies – Intermediate students have been learning about the history of BC and working on some research projects.
  • Environmental studies – These continue. Mrs. Bonikowsky’s class has taken over our recycling program and have been learning about how to manage the materials we have and recycle appropriately.
  • Black History month - All classes continued with learning about Black History in Canada

Family learning resources:

February 26 is Pink Shirt Day. Here are some resources for you as you have conversations with your children about the topic of bullying, anti-bullying, and how to stand up against bullying. Encourage your child to wear pink on this day.

Pink Shirt Day – Kids Explain (CBC Kids)

Here is a website with a collection of various activities you could choose to do at home to talk about bullying with your child(ren). There are downloadables, videos, and art activities.

Here is a link to ERASE BC which also has a wealth of information on bullying, how to prevent it and how to report it.

Have a great week,

Mrs. Snell
