For winter activities, our primary classes participated in a series of four lessons in TaeKwonDo.

Master Dean from Kootenay Martial Arts came and led students in a series of activities in enhanced resilience training, and foundations of TaeKwonDo.

Our winter activities are over and were a great success! 

Our Gr. 2/3's went cross-country skiing, and despite a low snow pack and adverse weather, they had some wonderful days of skiing to finish off their time at Apex.

Students have been very busy practicing their writing here at South Nelson this spring! 

K/1 Students: They have been doing directed drawing and learning to copy sentences. They designed their own leprechaun, described it's features and copied the sentence "My Leprechaun". Great spelling and printing Gr. K/1s!

This past month has been a flurry of physical, intellectual, social and emotional learning in our six families of schools as students engaged in activities that stretched their skills, and exercised their understanding, leading us toward our upcoming spring break from March 18 to April 1.

Our grade 2-3 class had a blast learning about Arctic animals. Each of us became an expert on a different critter, like polar bears or Arctic foxes, snowy owl, beluga Whale, etc. We learned about habitat, physical appearances, diets and adaptations for living in such a cold place.
