Happy June! Wow – it is hard to believe we are already at the end of the year and into the last few weeks of school. There are many activities happening each week this month and we look forward to ending the school year in a positive way.
The Grade 4/5's completed an Art Starts project where they were introduced to the magical world of stop-motion animation, and created a short animated film. The project combined curricular elements of space and the earth's rotation with stop-motion creation.
The school year is coming to a close in a few weeks and hundreds of high school graduates across our district will reach out their hands to accept their Certificate of Graduation or B.C. “Dogwood diploma.”
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers, grandmothers, and special caregivers in our community! Thank you for all you do and what you contribute to the lives of children.
South Nelson sure has talent! Thank you to all who came out to the 2024 South Nelson Talent Show. It was filled with a great line up of student performers. We started out with class performances in which students sang, and played bucket drums or ukuleles. Our primary classes did a song with actions.
On Friday May 10th students at South Nelson had the privilege of learning and playing a few traditional Indigenous games from Vanessa Lozecznik. Vanessa works with local Elders to learn about these traditional games and has received permission to share them with her students.
