Midwinter is upon us - a time when SD8 students and educators look forward to sharing and showing what children have learned and the talents they have developed in the first half of the school year.

Congratulations to our students on a job well done at the winter concert! We had elves, snowflakes, snowmen and lumps of coal galore! The winter holiday sentiment was high and everyone enjoyed both singing and playing for our family and friends. 

Our Gr. 4/5's introduced the show with a land acknowledgement and an Indigenous drumming song.

Outdoor learning continues to be a large focus at the school, despite the shift to cooler weather. All students enjoy the extra time outside and the hot chocolate breaks help to warm up!

Mrs. Bonikowsky's class has been learning about the provinces of Canada and what makes each of them special. To celebrate our own hometown of Nelson, students created their own book based on the book "If You're Not from the Prairies" in which the author highlights all the wonderful geographical elements of growing up in the prairies.
