SNES News Jan. 1
Hello Families,
Happy New Year! I trust you had a good break with family and friends and enjoyed some good rest together. This week we are back to school and we look forward to seeing everyone again.
See below for this week’s update.
Last week’s highlights include:
- No highlights yet!
A few pieces of information/reminders for you:
- Back to packing lunches this week! Just a reminder to ensure you send enough food for your child(ren) for the day, as the hot lunch program is not up and running yet
- Please ensure your child(ren) dress for the weather. It looks mild this week, which means it may be wet and muddy. If possible, tuck in a change of clothes in case playground mishaps happen!
- Winter activities will be starting in January! Watch for more information and permission slips to come home soon.
Some upcoming dates (you can also find these posted on our calendar: https://southnelson.sd8.bc.ca/events/calendar)
- Jan. 2 – First day of school
- Jan. 4 – French Immersion online info session – If you have a student going into Gr. 6, you may be interested in the Late French Immersion Program. More information here: https://southnelson.sd8.bc.ca/events/online-parent-engagement-session-5

As we head back from the holidays, it may take some time to get back into routine!
Here is a helpful article that may help your family as you consider the routines you need in your home as we head back to school (include the kids in discussing what may work best for them!) https://www.healthline.com/health/back-to-school-routine-tips-for-parents-and-kids
