SNES News April 22
Hello Families,
Happy Monday! I trust you had a good weekend. It was beautiful weather to get out and enjoy the outdoors together as a family.
Today is a ProD day and staff are engaging in learning to improve their practice.
See below for this week’s update.
Have a great week!
Last week’s highlights include:
Scholastic Book fair – This was a huge success! You can read about it at the blog post here
- Earth Day celebrations. All classes engaged in learning about the environment and celebrated earth day. See more at the blog post here
- Gr. 4/5 Art Starts Stop Motion project: Our Gr. 4/5 classes had their first of six Stop Motion sessions with Art Starts artist Brian Lye. This session included learning about what stop motion is and having time for exploration by making their own short object animation. They are working towards creating an animation of their choice to show and share their learning from the current Science unit. This will include themes such as: lunar/solar eclipse, tides, indigenous stories, seasons, day/night, revolutions and rotations.
- Play in the K – We hosted our second Play in the K event for our incoming Kindergarten students and it was well attended! We look forward to seeing them all again at the Welcome to K event on May 8. If you have a student ready for Kindergarten (or know someone who does!) remember to register for Kindergarten and attend this important event. Feel free to share this calendar invitation around!
