Santa is on the way!

Kids at South Nelson Elementary shopped for family and had gifts wrapped at a pop-up Santa’s Workshop.

The Parent Advisory Council organized the re-gifting event and got help wrapping presents from City of Nelson Mayor Morrison, City Councillors Tait and Woodward, and students from Trafalgar Middle School.

School District No. 8 (Kootenay Lake) announced the election by acclamation of a new chair and vice-chair of the Board of Education at the inaugural board meeting held in Nelson, B.C., on November 14. School Trustee Dawn Lang was elected uncontested as the new chair, moving into the role after serving one year as vice-chair.

School District No. 8 (Kootenay Lake) announced today that Principal Misty Terpstra will transfer from Nelson Wildflower School to Salmo Elementary School to serve as the new school principal.

Principal Terpstra will assume the school leadership role from Principal Dawn Snell whose move to South Nelson Elementary school was announced in May.
