Hello Families,
Welcome to May! We are already here at the end of the school year and the next two months will fly by! There are lots of great activities planned in the upcoming weeks.
See below for this week’s update
Last week’s highlights include:
- Student Learning showcases –For the early dismissals, many classes hosted student led conferences or open houses. If you did not get a chance to connect with your teacher or hear about your child’s progress, please reach out.
- GROWS assembly – This month, our GROWS assembly focused on “S” – Safety. We talked about safety inside the school and outside the school. Then students participated in a muti-age activity that combined safety sense with a STEM challenge.
- Student Vote – Intermediate students learned about the election process, the various parties, and had the opportunity to cast their own votes. There was a lot of good discussion about party platforms and issues that are important to students.
- Outdoor learning – Many classes headed outside for learning! Primary classes visited the Maple Forest while other classes ventured further out to the rail trails/Badger trail. In addition, PE classes are heading outdoors to enjoy this beautiful weather.
- Movie Night – Big thanks to PAC for hosting another movie night! It was a great success. Thanks to all for coming out
A few pieces of information/reminders for you:
- Dressing for the weather – A reminder that as the weather warms up classes will be outdoors more. Please ensure your child comes prepared for the warm weather including a hat, water bottle and sunscreen in their backpack.
