SNES News Dec 19
Hello families!
Well, here we are at winter break! This has been such a great week of learning as well as special occasions, presentations, and holiday activities in the classrooms. Our festive fun week got everyone into the holiday spirit and it was great to see all the creativity students had each day.
Here are some highlights from the last couple weeks:
- Decoration and holiday crafts – So many classes were engaged in making holiday decorations and/or cards. There were some great ideas and very beautiful creations!
- Readers’ Theatre – Mrs. Bonikowsky’s class hosted their annual holiday readers theatre event. Parents and other classes came to see the dramatic presentations of the readers’ theatre students have been working on for some time. Students put in a lot of hard work into rehearsal, props and creating a welcoming, dramatic event!
- Baking – Several classes did holiday baking together and made some sweet treats! Thanks to all the parent volunteers and big buddies who came to help with making dough, baking cookies, decorating, and putting together gingerbread houses!
- Buddy activities – This is a great season for buddy classes to do fun activities together. There were popcorn and movie days, baking days, reading and crafts together
- Festive fun week – Every day of the week was a different theme. It was great to see all the creativity that students put forward to celebrate the season
- Cottonwood lake – A couple of classes ended their week with outdoor learning at Cottonwood Lake. We are so grateful for the new snow that made for a great day of winter learning together.
-
Santa’s Workshop – A huge thanks to our PAC for putting on a successful Santa’s workshop event. We are very grateful for all the donations that helped make this event possible. Students were so excited to be able to shop for their family and friends and take home cheerful packages to put under the tree!
