Hello Families, 

Welcome back from Spring Break! I trust you had a good time of rest, replenishment, and fun with your family. It has been great talking with students and hearing all about the adventures that were had. We had a good week getting back into the routine of school and catching up with one another.

Last week’s highlights include:

• A return to our outdoor expeditions. Classes enjoyed getting outdoors and exploring the forest and community. With the good weather, we will have more and more opportunities for this, and classes plan to go out on a weekly basis
• Science learning with a focus on space – Many classes are doing science units on the solar system and space. They are taking the opportunity to learn about the eclipse as it is happening
• Lots of writing about the holidays and letters to penpals
• Spring art projects are underway
• Our students teachers have returned and will be doing their long practicum in classes. We are happy to have them here!

A few pieces of information/reminders for you:

1. Fresh to you Fundraiser! Thank you for your support! The fruit and veggie bundles will be ready for pick up on April 18. 
2. Some surveys for you:
   
   1. SD8 Sustainability survey - The Board of Education is seeking to develop a Sustainability Policy and is looking for feedback from students, staff, and parents on what to consider in this work. The Sustainability Public Engagement page and survey is attached here for you.
   2. Student Learning Survey – Gr. 4, 7 and 10 students will be completing the Student Learning Survey. All parents are invited to participate as well. Please help our school develop a strong learning plan by giving your feedback!
