Good day out there, South Nelson Community.  

This past Monday's District Professional Development Day included a highly engaging and thought-provoking keynote from Calgary's former mayor, Naheed Nenshi.  To get to know his messaging and wisdom, check out the interview from CBC Ideas at https://www.cbc.ca/radio/ideas/keep-fighting-to-build-strong-communities-naheed-nenshi-1.6679094.  The importance of being involved in building community in this 'wet clay stage' of human history has stuck with me through the week.

The other workshop I was involved in on Monday was Master Dean Siminoff's introduction to 'Enhanced Resilience Training' that was brought to the district pro-d day through his work with SN's Mrs. Chernenkoff and Mrs. De Sousa. Check out Dean's brilliant work at https://enhancedresilience.com/ and see the attachment to this weekly update email for details of the training he is leading this weekend in Nelson.  I had the fortune of taking this training with a group of men just prior to winter break and highly recommend it.
