Weekly Update - 15Oct22

Good day out there, South Nelson Community.  

Thank you to the team of volunteers who helped make yesterday's SD8 cross-country running event at Lakeside Park such a success.  South Nelson had a whopping 70 participants!  A big thank you to Ms. Douglas for taking the lead on organizing our cross-country team and to Ms. Douglas, Mrs. Bonikowsky, Ms. Long, and parent, Dave Ellis for running the practices leading up to yesterday's event. 

This past week we had two volunteer orientations sessions to get as many approved volunteers as possible early in the school year for the many learning opportunities and supports that are enhanced by volunteers.  Please let me know if you couldn't make either of these sessions but still want to get on our list of approved volunteers.  To make the orientation more efficient, please read SD8's Volunteers Administrative Procedure at https://www.sd8.bc.ca/sites/default/files/AP%20300.3%20Volunteers_2.pdf. 

Please mark your calendars for South Nelson's Open House on Wednesday, November 16th from 2:00-5:00 to come meet Teachers, visit classrooms, pick up your child(ren)'s fall learning updates in-person, and get to know the briliant work that the South Nelson PAC does to support our learning community.
