Good day out there, South Nelson.

Prior to spring break, Mrs. Bonikowsky’s Grade 4/5 class were inspired after watching a video called “Caine’s Arcade” about a young boy in Los Angeles whose creativity started a 'Global Cardboard Challenge' and decided as a group to run their own cardboard arcade for South Nelson K-5 students.  Further, they decided to connect this to the fundraising initiative they had taken on this year to raise at least $1000 for 'Water For South Sudan', a non-profit organization focussed on bringing clean drinking water to rural communities in Africa.  On March 9, classes visited the gym to participate in the arcade games with students bringing loonies and toonies to play each game and Mrs. Bonikowsky's class providing small prizes to participants.  The class raised $552 from the event, bringing their total to send to Water for South Sudan to $1077, which has now been sent in to support this cause!
