Spring Writing Abounds!
Students have been very busy practicing their writing here at South Nelson this spring!
K/1 Students: They have been doing directed drawing and learning to copy sentences. They designed their own leprechaun, described it's features and copied the sentence "My Leprechaun". Great spelling and printing Gr. K/1s!
Gr. 1/2 Students: During our grade ½ writing groups on Friday mornings, the students have been working on writing a topic sentence and 2 or 3 sentences to support the topic sentence. We spent time brainstorming, networking, editing, revising and working on our good copies.
Gr. 2/3 Students: They have been learning about instructional writing. A fun lesson included learning how to chew bubble gum and blow bubbles! The students figured out how to blow bubbles, brainstormed the steps, put them in order and wrote the instructions for all of us to learn. Great job!
