Spring Gratitude Garden
Image

In the grade 2/3 class we have been working on practicing gratitude. The students created gratitude flowers, with each petal representing something for which they are grateful. As a group, we created a “gratitude garden” with the students colouring and cutting out the letters and adding butterflies. This latest project is part of a bigger goal to learn how to regulate and be ready to learn. Earlier this year, the students generated their own “tools” for managing their zones, which are posted in the classroom. Each day, we spend time on social emotional learning through books, conversations, and videos. Hopefully this will give the students strategies to support them as they move through the world.
