South Nelson Students win local Reading Challenge
South Nelson Intermediate students participated in the province wide Reading LInk Challenge. It is a challenge hosted by public libraries to foster a love of literature among students and create partnerships between libraries and schools. Libraries choose and provide 6 titles to participating schools and students are challenged to read as many of them as they can! Then, students gather in teams to have a competition answering questions about the books. Winning teams go on to district competitions.
Congratulations to Mrs. DeSousa’s class winning team- The Humming Bears - who won this year’s district Reading Link Challenge finals!
After two rounds against seven other teams, this crew went into sudden death with one other team! It was an exciting round and 13 questions later, in a never before show down, we won!
Way to make reading fun!!!!
