SNES News for April 3 - 7
We could not be prouder of the work that the students did to prepare for the concert this week. We certainly have talented students.
Essential Messages
- PLEASE NOTE: there is NO hot lunch the first week back from Spring Break, please send a lunch with your children every day.
- The next hot lunch order forms will come out our first week back from Spring Break. This will cover hot lunch until the end of the year. It is really important for you to know that we have a LOT of field trips that will be scheduled those last two weeks. At the PAC meeting it was discussed about the challenges of this for the hot lunch ordering. There is no way for us to coordinate and/or cancel orders. Families may want to keep this in mind when they are deciding to order. We will do our best to get the food to students when they return, but often the classes return at the end of the school day, which is often busy. Families will need to send a lunch on field trip days, even if a hot lunch was ordered for that day. We will NOT be able to get the hot lunch to students who are on field trips. You may want to NOT order hot lunch for the last two week if this is a concern for you.
- The Parent Advisory Counsel is looking for additional members to join our PAC and/or help with upcoming activities. Here is a brief survey to help provide answers and input into their voluntary activities next year.

Good morning, On behalf of BC Children’s Hospital, I would like to invite you and your grade 10-12 students to attend Mini Med School on Friday, May 5, 2023 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Prestige Lakeside Resort, 701 Lakeside Drive, Nelson. Mini Med School is a BC Children’s Hospital health science youth outreach program that connects high school students with big ideas, big discoveries and big names in health research. Admission is free but space is limited. Student registration will be available online between Monday, March 27 to Wednesday, April 5, 2023. To keep things fair for all students, participants will be selected based on a lottery draw.
As the health and safety of our participants and faculty are the top priority, all attendees will be required to wear a mask during the event. As Mini Med School is a special event held outside the classroom, students will also be responsible for making their own arrangements to miss a day of classes and for transportation to the venue. Feel free to distribute the attached poster to your students and colleagues. For more information please visit www.minimedschoolbc.ca.
