Intermediate Students Learn Coding from UBC!
Image
South Nelson students got a taste for engineering and coding last week!
The intermediate classes were visited by guest presenters from the UBC Okanagan Engineering department. As science and math specialists, they lead the classes through two days of workshops to get the kids learning through the lens of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math). Students learned to code and create a basic video game using both Scratch and Microsoft programs, as well as got to explore programming mini robots to move in various ways.
It was very engaging and all students enjoyed creating a game of their own!
