Weekly Update - 12Nov22

Good day out there, South Nelson.

Thank you to all who contributed to our Remembrance Day assembly on Thursday as we all gathered together in respect, honouring, and reflection.  Being surrounded by student art work, having young people step forward to share meaningful words, holding silence together, and then singing all together to end this year's ceremony brought a much needed re-connection to this important event.

Thank you also to our PAC once again for supporting this year's 'Musician-in-Residence project' with April Lavine.  We will be showcasing this project, along with our Storytelling project with Shayna Jones, on Thursday, December 15 as follows.  Mark your calendar for this day of celebrating Arts & Culture at South Nelson!

  • K/1, 1/2, 2/3, and 3/4 classes matinee music performance at 1:00
  • 4/5 classes storytelling performance at 4:00
  • K/1, 1/2, 2/3, and 3/4 classes evening music performance at 6:00

And...if you have a few minutes have a listen to this incredible song that keeps popping up on my spotify playlists these days, which connects to the current song request theme of 'aging' on CBC radio's Daybreak South.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFGs7HP15d4

To the details...

Take care, everyone.
