Welcome to our new website!

Welcome to South Nelson Elementary School’s new website!

We are very excited about the launch of our new website this week especially having a consistent and user friendly way to communicate about all the wonderful things happening at South Nelson Elementary School!  Some highlights include having a much easier site to navigate, information from both our school and our district located in one place, and announcements and reminders updated regularly for parents and caregivers.  Over the next few months we will transition from email and paper based newsletters to posting them on the website.  Information that is classroom specific will still be sent via teacher email or through the office.  Please take a few minutes to check out the various tabs and features of our website.  I would particularly like to point out the Report an Absence tab.  Rather than emailing your child’s teacher or calling the office, you now just need to report by filling in your child’s name, date, and press submit!

You will notice that we have adopted a new tree logo on the home page.  Our motto South Nelson GROWS Great Kids has been represented by a tree for many years.  We would like to thank Brian Webb for generously giving us permission to use his graphic of a tree to represent the values we hold at South Nelson Elementary. The branches represent Great Attitude, Respecting Ourselves, Others, and Our Space, Open-Minds and Hearts, Working Together and Safety. The trunk represents our values of multi-aging, commitment to high engagement, and providing a kind, caring and supportive environment for all.

Sincerely,

Monica Doyle
